Do you think you know how to flirt? First, see if you’re already following these 6 tips, and then we’ll take it from there.
1. Be playful. Have you ever had a 5 year old girl say to you “OK, now, I’m the princess, and you’re the prince. You’re going to ride up on your horse, and . . .” It’s simple. Girls like to role-play. And not just 5 year old girls. Adult women love it, too. Think of that woman in front of you as a little girl just waiting for a playful man to engage her in some fantasy banter, and you’ll double your flirting skill almost instantly. Keep the fantasy PG rated at first and she’ll join in more often than you think.
2. Have some material ready. You don’t want to come across as canned, but it doesn’t hurt to have a funny story ready for any lull that might come along in the conversation.
3. Be arrogant. Now this one needs some explanation. I didn’t say “be a jerk”. This is a “playful” arrogance. If you bump your head, smile and say “it’s a good thing I’m the man of steel.” Keep a smile close at hand, and you can get away with a truckload of arrogance. And most women will love it.
4. Lean back. Don’t lean in very often when you talk to a woman. It makes you look way too interested in what she’s saying. You need to be the one with exciting stories and opinions. If you make yourself more interesting, you can make her come to you.
5. Set an authority frame. Don’t let her take on the role of your teacher. Girls will do this if you let them. Try to have things you can teach them. Teach them anything — a tongue twister, the answer to a riddle, how to remember a list of numbers, whatever. Flirting will go much better if you establish yourself as the authority in the situation. And I’m not talking about taking a chauvanistic tone here. I’m just saying, be the one with the most to offer in the interaction.
6. Try a deeper voice. Try not to sound like a cartoon, but try going deeper. Try to have some resonance in your chest when you talk. Think of your voice vibrating through her.
Flirting is very important. It’s one of the most fun things in all of life if you know how to flirt well. Keep working on it, and take every chance you have to learn how to do it well.
